The Band Feel
By Opie Beadle
The Band Feel turned the Turf Club in Saint Paul, Minnesota, into what felt less like a concert and more like a time machine. At first, the band's name didn’t fully register, but it quickly became clear what it meant. Before the show, a few attendees explained why they keep coming back to rock concerts like this: it delivers a rush no seated venue ever could. People want to be pulled into the moment, to be inspired, to FEEL something and the Band delivered exactly that.
Lead singer Garrett Barcus mentioned that the last time he performed at Turf Club May 4, 2025, he left with a broken nose. After witnessing the intensity of this set, it was easy to see why. The four-piece band from St. Louis fed off the crowd’s energy as much as they fed off each other, moving constantly and embodying a vintage rock and roll aura which feels rare these days.
Guitarist Tyler Armstrong rotated through multiple guitars, each one adding to the band’s classic aesthetic. A cover of Joe Cocker's version of The Beatles’ “With a Little Help from My Friends” landed as a crowd favorite and reinforced the band’s deep roots in rock history.
The Band Feel could be the next breakout name in modern rock and roll. There were less young faces in the crowd than expected, despite the band’s timeless energy. If performances like this are any indication, it’s only a matter of time before they take much bigger stages, earning the recognition they clearly deserve.
